La SIG Strasbourg a officialisé ce vendredi 5 mai la prolongation de contrat de son entraîneur principal, Jānis Gailītis, et de son adjoint, Massimo Maffezzoli. Initialement engagés sur une durée plus courte, les deux techniciens ont vu une année supplémentaire s'ajouter à leur bail, ce qui les lie désormais à la SIG jusqu'en 2028. Une décision qui intervient alors que le club souhaite inscrire son projet sportif dans la continuité. La 8e place obtenue en Betclic ÉLITE malgré une fin de saison compliquée, et la défaite serrée en playoffs contre Paris (2-1) ont convaincu les dirigeants. Le directeur sportif, Nicola Alberani, a d'ailleurs justifié ce choix par la solidité de la relation nouée avec les deux entraîneurs : _« Nous construisons notre projet dans la durée et installons une relation solide avec un staff technique de très haut niveau. Ils ont démontré qu'ils se sont parfaitement adaptés à notre club et au championnat de France, auquel ils se sont rapidement acclimatés. Ils ont également su s'intégrer très vite à la ville et à la vie strasbourgeoise_(depuis l'Allemagne pour Gailītis, depuis la Chine pour Maffezzoli, ndlr). _»_

SIG Strasbourg confirmed on Friday, May 5, the extension of contract of head coach Jānis Gailītis and assistant coach Massimo Maffezzoli. Initially engaged for a shorter period, the two coaches have seen an additional year added to their contract, which now ties them to the SIG until 2028. A decision that comes as the club wants to inscribe its sports project in continuity. The 8th place obtained in Betclic ÉLITE despite a complicated end of season, and the narrow defeat in playoffs against Paris (2-1) have convinced the directors. The sports director, Nicola Alberani, has indeed justified this choice by the solidity of the relationship established with the two coaches: _« We build our project in the long term and establish a solid relationship with a high-level technical staff.
